In the early hours of a Friday in March 2023, the life of 34-year-old Black man Dimitri Larese Martin was tragically cut short in Davenport, Iowa. Just before 1 a.m. on March 3rd, police responded to reports of gunfire near the intersection of Third and Ripley Streets. Upon arrival, they found Martin suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a local hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
