On September 15, 2024, a deadly shooting occurred in the Court Avenue area of Des Moines, Iowa, resulting in the deaths of two men. One of the victims was 34-year-old Oscar Matthew Marquez Jr. He, along with 29-year-old Dennis Morris Hawkins Jr., succumbed to their injuries from the shooting.
