On a late Tuesday night in Des Moines, Iowa, the life of 18-year-old Jacob Matthew Brown, a white male, was tragically cut short in what would become the city's first homicide of 2024. The incident unfolded on April 2, 2024, at an apartment complex located at 1405 SE 1st Street. Police responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 11:35 p.m. and discovered a chaotic scene with two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds inside an apartment.
