Dakota Rain Toepfer, born on July 8, 1999, in Carroll, Iowa, was the son of Scott Toepfer and Danielle (Malone) Frasier. He passed away on May 7, 2023, at the age of 23.

The incident occurred near the 6300 block of Urbandale Avenue in Des Moines, Iowa. According to police reports, the shooting took place shortly after 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 7, 2023. Dakota Toepfer was found at the scene and was pronounced dead.
