Choice Elliston, a 23-year-old from Des Moines, Iowa, died on May 10, 2017, due to a gunshot wound to the head. The incident occurred during a "rolling" gun battle between two rival gangs on May 9, 2017. Elliston was a backseat passenger in a vehicle involved in this gun fight. He was taken to Broadlawns Medical Center with the gunshot wound and later transferred to Iowa Methodist, where he succumbed to his injuries the next day.
