In the summer of 2021, the life of William E. Terry, a 47-year-old Black / African American man, came to a tragic end in his Ames, Iowa, home. On July 22, his death unfolded amidst a serious criminal investigation. Terry was a former associate principal at Marshalltown High School, a position he had held during the 2020-2021 school year. He was known by some as the 'hip-hop administrator' for creating rap songs for students about topics like COVID-19 mitigation efforts.
