In the late hours of a Friday night in Ames, Iowa, a private event at the Elk's Lodge descended into chaos and violence, leaving a young man's life tragically cut short. Stashaun D.L. Brown, a 23-year-old Black male from Des Moines, was fatally wounded on October 29, 2021, in a shooting that erupted in the parking lot of the venue located at 522 Douglas Avenue.
