In the early morning hours of August 16, 2024, a dispute in Tucson, Arizona, escalated into deadly violence, claiming the life of 46-year-old Aaron Taber Boatner. The fatal encounter occurred just before 4 a.m. near the intersection of North Stone Avenue and West Speedway. The altercation, described as a brawl, resulted in a shooting that left Boatner dead and two other men wounded.
A graduate of Tucson High School, Aaron was employed in sales and had worked for various companies across
Arizona, California, and Nevada. He was a father to two sons, Fabian and Roman. His passing was mourned by his surviving family, including a brother, an uncle, an aunt, and cousins.
In the wake of the shooting, an investigation led Tucson police to identify 21-year-old Rogelio Rene Pacheco as a suspect. He was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident and faces charges of second-degree murder and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Pacheco was taken into custody near downtown Tucson and booked into the Pima County jail on a $500,000 bond.
