In the late hours of October 18, 2024, a verbal dispute among acquaintances in west Phoenix escalated into a fatal shooting, claiming the life of 25-year-old Andrue Abraham Encizo, a Hispanic/Latino male. The incident occurred at a residence near 86th Avenue and Minnezona Avenue, where police responded to a 'shots fired' call around 7:05 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered one man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound who was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment.
During the investigation at the scene, police were notified that a second victim, later identified as Andrue Encizo, had been privately taken to a nearby hospital by witnesses. Despite receiving medical care, Encizo succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. Authorities believe that an argument between a group of people who knew each other led to the exchange of gunfire that resulted in two individuals being shot.
Multiple individuals were detained at the scene and taken to police headquarters for interviews with detectives. However, they were later released pending further investigation. As of now, no arrests have been made, and no charges have been filed in connection with the shooting. The Phoenix Police Department's investigation into the homicide remains ongoing as they continue to process evidence. Andrue was described as a loving son and a brother to eight siblings.
