In what authorities have described as a tragic murder-suicide, 60-year-old Mi Soon Kim was found deceased in a Kingman, Arizona motel room. Her husband, 64-year-old David Yong Kwang Kim, was also found dead at the scene. Both individuals were discovered in the bed of their rented downtown motel room with gunshot wounds.
Police were alerted to the scene after receiving a 911 call about two deceased individuals shortly after 1 p.m. on a Monday afternoon.
Investigators located a handgun at the scene and believe the incident stemmed from domestic issues between the couple, who were visiting from Lake Oswego, Oregon.
The preliminary investigation suggests that David Yong Kwang Kim shot his wife before turning the gun on himself. Authorities have stated that they are not seeking any other suspects in connection with the deaths. The investigation into the circumstances leading up to the apparent murder-suicide is ongoing.
