On Christmas Day in 2015, a tragic event unfolded inside a Mesa, Arizona apartment complex near US 60 and Gilbert Road. A 24-year-old man, Robert Gertos, was found inside his apartment with a fatal gunshot wound. Authorities were called to the scene at approximately 1:00 p.m. and, upon their arrival, pronounced him dead.
