Murdered

On February 4, 2018, Kyle Stephen Kane Brayer, a 34-year-old off-duty Tempe Fire captain, was fatally shot in Scottsdale, Arizona. The incident occurred early Sunday morning.

The suspect in the shooting was identified as 21-year-old Hezron Parks. Parks was arrested and subsequently charged with second-degree murder in connection with Brayer's death. During the trial, Parks claimed that he had shot Brayer in self-defense, but this argument was not accepted by the jury.
