On the night of May 20, 2019, in Phoenix, Arizona, 18-year-old Jalen Juwaun Terrell was walking with two friends near a bus stop on 10th Avenue and Dobbins Road. The young man's life was cut short when shots were fired in their direction. While his friends were able to escape the gunfire, Terrell was struck and fatally wounded.
The shooting occurred at approximately 10:50 p.m.
As the trio walked south on 10th Avenue, the sound of gunshots erupted from the vicinity of Dobbins Road, sending them running for safety. In the ensuing chaos, Terrell was hit. Despite the efforts of those who arrived on the scene, he succumbed to his injuries.
Phoenix police have been investigating the homicide, appealing to the public for any information that might lead to an arrest. A person of interest was seen in the area around the time of the shooting. He is described as a Hispanic male with tattoos, who was wearing a gray hoodie and was in the parking lot of a Taco Feliz located at 925 West Dobbins Road. Investigators have been seeking information regarding this individual and any connection he may have to the incident. To date, no arrests have been publicly announced in the shooting death of Jalen Juwaun Terrell.
