In the early morning hours of September 28, 2020, tragedy struck at a large party in Phoenix, Arizona, culminating in the death of 22-year-old Isaiah D. Herron. Herron, a Black/African American male, was attending a gathering at an apartment complex near 19th and Northern avenues when a dispute escalated into fatal violence.
According to initial reports from the Phoenix police, officers were dispatched to the scene around 3:45 a.m. following reports of gunfire.
Upon their arrival, they discovered Herron suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a nearby hospital in extremely critical condition but was later pronounced dead.
Witnesses at the party told investigators that Herron had been involved in a verbal altercation with another individual. This confrontation took a deadly turn when the unidentified person opened fire, striking Herron. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived and, based on available information, has not been publicly identified or apprehended. The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing as authorities continue to seek information from the public to bring closure to Herron's family.
