On November 20, 2019, a tragic incident occurred in Phoenix, Arizona, resulting in the death of 17-year-old Jesus Gutierrez. The event unfolded during a domestic violence incident at a home near 71st Avenue and Van Buren Street. Jesus Gutierrez and his 18-year-old sister, who was pregnant, were involved in the situation. Her boyfriend, 20-year-old Crispin N. Acevedo, was arguing with her, which escalated into physical violence when he pushed her onto a bed and started to choke her.
