In a heart-wrenching incident in Phoenix, Arizona, a two-year-old boy named Kayden Lewis tragically lost his life on January 12, 2022. The young male's death was the result of an accidental shooting that occurred at an apartment complex near 19th Avenue and Thunderbird Road around 4:30 p.m. Emergency services rushed Kayden to a local hospital in critical condition, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into the devastating event revealed that Kayden had gained
access to a loaded handgun that belonged to his father. Phoenix police responded to what was initially reported as an accidental shooting and found the toddler with a gunshot wound. In connection with Kayden's death, his 29-year-old father, Joshua Lewis, was arrested and subsequently booked on one count of child abuse.
