In the early morning hours of April 6, 2020, the quiet of a north-central Phoenix apartment complex was shattered by the discovery of a deceased woman in the parking garage. Responding to a shooting call near 16th Street and Northern Avenue at approximately 5:40 a.m., Phoenix police and firefighters found 57-year-old Linda Meyer inside her vehicle. She had sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. Meyer was identified as a White female.
