In the early morning hours of April 6, 2020, the quiet of a north-central Phoenix apartment complex was shattered by the discovery of a deceased woman in the parking garage. Responding to a shooting call near 16th Street and Northern Avenue at approximately 5:40 a.m., Phoenix police and firefighters found 57-year-old Linda Meyer inside her vehicle. She had sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meyer was identified as a White female.
The investigation into her death quickly turned toward a suspect with whom she had been in a relationship. Authorities identified 64-year-old Stanley Justice as the primary suspect in Meyer's killing. It was determined that the two had been involved in a relationship, and the incident was being investigated as a tragic case of domestic violence. The manhunt for Stanley Justice came to a somber conclusion two days later and hundreds of miles away. On April 8, 2020, a passerby discovered his body in a wooded area in Williamson County, Tennessee. Justice had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, bringing an end to the search. The case was ultimately solved with the death of the primary suspect, leaving behind a tragic story of violence that claimed two lives.
