In the summer of 2020, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet of a south Phoenix apartment complex, leaving a community shaken and a family grieving. On the evening of July 19th, 36-year-old Cedric Lee Springfield, a male, was shot and killed in what police described as a double shooting. Another woman who was with him at the time was also struck by the gunfire but survived her injuries.
