In the early morning hours of January 17, 2021, a night of socializing at an after-hours nightclub on University Drive in Phoenix, Arizona, turned into a scene of violence that claimed the life of 24-year-old Ahmad Thornton, a Black / African American male. The incident, which unfolded around 5:00 a.m., also left six other adult males with injuries.
