On January 25, 2021, at approximately 4:05 a.m., Phoenix police officers responded to what initially appeared to be a single-car crash in the area of 2500 West McLellan Blvd. However, upon arrival, they discovered that the victim, 33-year-old Anthony James Martin II, had been shot in the torso and was deceased. The incident was quickly classified as a homicide.
