On the night of September 30, 1992, Bernardo Anthony Hawkins, known by his nicknames "Peanut" or "Nut," was shot and killed at approximately 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of 50th and F Streets SE, Washington, D.C. Hawkins was 22 years old at the time of his death. The circumstances surrounding his homicide remain unclear, and the case has not been solved.
