Chris Crowder, a 44-year-old political activist, was shot and killed on July 8, 2006, in Washington, D.C. The incident occurred between 3 and 4 a.m. in the 600 block of N Street, NW. Crowder, who had been paralyzed since a previous shooting in 1990, was found lying next to his wheelchair, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
