In the early hours of May 9, 2021, a gathering at the Hyatt Regency hotel in downtown Phoenix turned tragic, ending the life of 21-year-old Jaziah Shakor Causey. A dispute escalated among a group of individuals, leading to a fatal shooting. The incident, which occurred around 12:30 a.m., resulted in Causey being found deceased inside the hotel. In addition to the fatality, seven other people, six men and one woman, sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the chaos.
