In the summer of 2021, the life of 45-year-old Rolando Rene Garcia was tragically cut short in Tucson, Arizona. On the morning of July 6th, his body was discovered near the railroad tracks in the 5100 block of South Fletcher Avenue, showing evident signs of trauma. This grim finding marked the city's 42nd homicide of the year.
Further investigation by the Tucson Police Department led to the identification of a suspect, 35-year-old Jose Quintero.
He was located at a residence in the 400 block of East Thoroughbred Street and taken into custody. Quintero faced a number of serious charges in connection with Garcia's death, including second-degree murder, kidnapping, and abandoning a dead body.
Rolando, born on July 16, 1975, to Maria Esther Garcia and Robert Silva Garcia, was a father to five children: Rolando Rene Garcia Jr., Steven Garcia, Sabrina Garcia, Natalie Garcia, and Ana Rose Garcia. He was also a grandfather and a brother. Known for his love of hunting, fishing, golfing, and baseball, he also had a knack for working on electronics and bikes. Those who knew him remember his ability to make people laugh. His family and friends gathered to honor his memory with a visitation and Rosary service on July 15, 2021, followed by a Mass the next day at Santa Monica Parish.
