In the early morning hours of December 29, 2021, Jorge Granados, a 21-year-old male, was fatally shot in Phoenix, Arizona. He was a passenger in a vehicle with two other men, stopped at a red light at the intersection of 19th Avenue and Camelback Road. The time was approximately 2:30 a.m.
The men had reportedly just left a nearby club when a black Hyundai pulled alongside their vehicle. Occupants of the Hyundai opened fire on the car containing Granados and the others.
Both Granados and another passenger, 27-year-old Everardo Molina Sandoval, were struck by the gunfire. The third man in their vehicle was not injured.
When police arrived at the scene, they found that Sandoval had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. Granados was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but later died from his wounds.
The suspects fled the scene in the black Hyundai and, as of the latest available reports, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. Investigators are seeking information from the public to help identify and apprehend the individuals responsible for the deaths of Jorge Granados and Everardo Molina Sandoval.
