In Phoenix, Arizona, a 44-year-old man named Erik Lagunas lost his life in a sequence of violent events. On the afternoon of February 5, 2024, reports of gunfire drew police to the area of 23rd and Fillmore Streets. Arriving at the scene, officers discovered a van that had crashed into an electrical pole, creating a hazardous situation with live power lines strewn about the vehicle. This danger initially prevented first responders from reaching the driver inside.
