In the early morning hours of February 20, 2022, a verbal altercation at a Phoenix, Arizona apartment complex near Indian School Road and the Black Canyon Highway took a fatal turn. During the dispute with an unknown individual, 33-year-old Britten Singleton, a Black/African American male, was shot. Despite his injuries, Singleton managed to flee the scene.
A short time later, at approximately 5:20 a.m., Phoenix Police responded to a call near 27th Avenue and Glenrosa Avenue, a few
blocks from the initial confrontation. There, they discovered Singleton suffering from a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a local hospital for medical attention. Tragically, Singleton succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Homicide detectives were called to the scene to begin their investigation. They interviewed witnesses and processed the area for evidence. Despite their efforts, the individual responsible for the shooting has not been identified, and no arrests have been made in connection with the case. The investigation into the death of Britten Singleton remains ongoing as authorities continue to seek information from the public to bring his killer to justice.
