On April 26, 2022, at approximately 9 p.m., officers from the Phoenix Police Department responded to a call for "unknown trouble" near the intersection of 27th Avenue and Indian School Road in west Phoenix. Upon arrival, they found 57-year-old Kent Ellsworth with obvious signs of trauma. Despite medical efforts, Ellsworth was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead due to his injuries.
