On June 28, 2022, a double homicide occurred in the Kingman area of Arizona, resulting in the deaths of Retta Atkins, 73, and Darren Vanhouten, 50. The victims were found dead inside a home located in the 9200 block of Diligaf Road, east of Kingman.

Retta Atkins and Darren Vanhouten were identified as the victims by law enforcement. The investigation into their deaths led to the capture of still images from surveillance, which aided in the subsequent arrest of a suspect.
