On a November evening in Tucson, Arizona, a confrontation at a residence in the 1600 block of West San Ricardo Road turned deadly, leaving two men dead. The incident, which occurred on November 10, 2022, claimed the life of 34-year-old Kevin Lavon Vie, a Black/African American male.
That evening, Vie and 41-year-old Tyrone Boney arrived at the home to confront an occupant with whom Boney had a domestic relationship.
When they were asked to leave, the situation escalated into a physical altercation. The confrontation quickly devolved into an exchange of gunfire.
During the shootout, both Vie and Boney were struck by bullets. Boney died at the scene. Vie, despite his injuries, managed to drive himself to Banner-University Medical Center's south campus. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The 40-year-old male occupant of the house sustained minor injuries during the confrontation and was treated at the scene. He was subsequently arrested and charged with weapons misconduct and was booked into the Pima County Jail, though he has since been released. The Tucson Police Department is continuing to investigate the full circumstances surrounding the shooting.
