Eliseo Jesus German, a 47-year-old White/Caucasian male, was killed in a shooting on June 21, 2024, in Tucson, Arizona. The event took place just after 5:45 p.m. at the intersection of South 12th Avenue and West President Street.
Reports from the Tucson Police Department indicate that German and a 21-year-old male were stopped at a red light when a verbal dispute erupted between them concerning a traffic incident.
Both men were armed, and during the course of the argument, the 21-year-old fired his gun, which resulted in German being fatally wounded.
Following the shooting, the 21-year-old contacted 911 to report what had happened. When police arrived, they discovered German in the road with gunshot wounds. Officers and personnel from the Tucson Fire Department administered first aid, but German was pronounced dead at the scene. Police later found the 21-year-old on West Ajo Way.
The investigation was taken over by homicide detectives, who planned to forward the case to the Pima County Attorney's Office for legal review. There have been no subsequent public announcements regarding the identity of the 21-year-old, whether an arrest was made, or the outcome of the prosecutor's assessment of the case.
