Francisco Daniel Arriaga, a 25-year-old Hispanic/Latino male, was fatally shot in Tucson, Arizona, on June 12, 2005, after a night out at the Bum Steer nightclub on North Stone Avenue. According to public records and later court summaries, Arriaga had been in the club and was in the parking lot around the 2:00 a.m. closing time, talking on his cell phone when events suddenly spiraled into violence.
