On January 8, 2018, Tucson Police responded to multiple reports of gunshots at an apartment complex located at 5171 East 29th Street in Midtown Tucson. Upon arrival, officers found 37-year-old Christopher Gentry inside an apartment with obvious signs of gunshot trauma. Despite immediate medical attention, Gentry was pronounced deceased at the scene.
