In the early morning hours of April 14, 2015, the life of 19-year-old Herschel Watkins III, an African American male, was tragically cut short. Inside an apartment near 29th Street and Alvernon Way in Tucson, Arizona, Watkins was fatally shot. The incident was quickly determined to be a homicide, launching an investigation into the violent death that shook his family and the community.
