In the pre-dawn hours of April 14, 2023, the quiet of a west Phoenix neighborhood was shattered by the sound of gunfire. At approximately 4:00 a.m., officers from the Phoenix Police Department were dispatched to the vicinity of 83rd Avenue and McDowell Road after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered a man lying with a gunshot wound. Responding firefighters pronounced him dead at the scene.
