On June 3, 2023, a tragic shooting incident occurred in Phoenix, Arizona, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, including Jerry Carter. Jerry Carter, who was 65 years old at the time of his death, was one of the victims pronounced dead at the scene.

The shooting involved three victims in total. Along with Jerry Carter, 55-year-old Jessica Velasquez was also pronounced dead at the scene. A third victim, a woman, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
