In the early morning hours of a Saturday in Phoenix, Arizona, the life of 41-year-old Raul Chavez was cut short in a burst of violence. Known affectionately as 'Chito' to his loved ones, Chavez was a man described by his aunt as a jokester. On June 17, 2023, just before 4:00 a.m., he found himself in a parking lot near the intersection of 35th Avenue and McDowell Road, where an altercation with unknown individuals would prove fatal.
