In the summer of 2023, the life of 33-year-old Nico Raul Valenzuela was cut short in Tucson, Arizona. On the night of Sunday, July 30th, officers from the Tucson Police Department responded to a distressing call near the intersection of First Avenue and Speedway Boulevard. Upon arrival, they discovered a man, later identified as Valenzuela, with injuries consistent with a shooting.
Despite the immediate medical attention provided by the officers and paramedics, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Acting on leads and evidence gathered during their investigation, officers located and arrested a suspect on August 1st. The individual taken into custody was identified as 28-year-old David A. Aguilar. He was subsequently booked into the Pima County jail on charges of first-degree murder in connection with the death of Nico Valenzuela, bringing a swift, though somber, turn to the investigation into the untimely death of the young Tucson man.
