On August 2, 2023, at approximately 4:00 p.m., 53-year-old Byron Lamar McBrine was fatally shot at Bonsall Park South in Glendale, Arizona, located near 59th Avenue and Bethany Home Road. Officers from the Glendale Police Department were in the area when they observed several people running out of the park, pointing to McBrine, who was found on the ground with apparent gunshot wounds. Despite attempts at life-saving efforts, McBrine was pronounced dead at the scene.
