The male victim was found suffering from a gunshot wound next to a bus stop at Tatum Boulevard and Union Hills Drive around 11:30 p.m. Despite the efforts of responding officers to provide aid until paramedics arrived, Page succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The investigation into the shooting was swift, with Phoenix police detectives utilizing witness statements and surveillance footage from a nearby Circle K to identify a suspect. According to the victim's girlfriend, who was present at the time, the conflict started inside the store where the suspect allegedly threatened Page with a lead pipe.
