On July 5, 2024, 28-year-old Desiree Serpas was fatally shot in a hotel room at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Phoenix, Arizona. The incident occurred after the July 4th festivities, when Serpas was lured to the hotel room by her ex-partner, Dominique Jackson. A security guard discovered her body in the hotel room, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
