In the early morning hours of October 8, 2024, a shooting inside a west Phoenix home claimed the life of Jesus Salazar Reyes. A 34-year-old Hispanic male, Reyes was found by Phoenix police officers who were responding to a report of a shooting at a residence near 71st Avenue and Osborn Road shortly after 2 a.m. He was suffering from multiple injuries and was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Known affectionately as 'DK,' Jesus Eduardo Salazar Reyes was born in
Los Angeles, California, on February 28, 1991. He was a devoted son, a cherished brother, and a proud father to a son and two daughters. Remembered for his witty jokes and cheerful spirit, he had a natural charisma that drew people to him. A talented graffiti artist, his creativity left an impression on those who saw his work. From a young age, he was a gifted athlete, excelling in soccer and football. He was known for his kindness and his willingness to always lend a helping hand.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and authorities have not released any information about a potential suspect or suspects. No arrests have been made in connection with the homicide.
