On a Saturday evening in Omaha, Nebraska, the life of a young Hispanic man was tragically cut short. Twenty-one-year-old Oziel Vazquez-Serrano was near the intersection of 36th and H Streets on May 13, 2017, when he was shot.

Officers from the Omaha Police Department responded to reports of the shooting and discovered Vazquez-Serrano with critical injuries. Despite the efforts of first responders, he succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. His death marked another ho ...
