Billy Allen Walker, 40, male, White/Caucasian, had just settled into a new apartment in northwest Omaha when gunfire shattered the quiet of a summer Friday. Around 9:30 p.m. on July 7, 2017, police were called to the Caravelle Apartments near Benson Gardens Boulevard and Miami Plaza and found Walker wounded inside. He was rushed to CUMC Bergan Mercy, where he was pronounced dead. Family described him as a devoted father and grandfather who had moved in only days earlier.
