Wesley Vern Brayman Jr., 37, a white male, was found shot to death inside a house near 28th and Laurel in north Omaha on the morning of June 25, 2018. Police were dispatched on a nature unknown call at about 8:09 a.m. to 5827 North 28th Avenue and discovered Brayman inside with apparent gunshot wounds, prompting a homicide investigation.
As detectives began piecing together the hours before his death, relatives described a wrenching scene: three of Brayman s children were in the home,
and two of them walked to nearby Miller Park Elementary to get help. News crews and officers gathered on the block while stunned family members pleaded for anyone with knowledge of what happened to come forward.
