On August 12, 2022, Anthony Collins III, a 22-year-old African American male, was fatally shot in Omaha, Nebraska. The incident occurred near North 49th and Charles Streets. Collins was transported by private vehicle to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries later that day.

The Omaha Police Department identified 20-year-old Wuanya Smith as the primary suspect in the case. An arrest warrant was issued for Smith on charges of second-degree murder, use of a weapon to commit a felony, and ...
