Markeise Dunn, a 16-year-old from Omaha, Nebraska, was tragically shot and killed on November 26, 2016, in a drive-by shooting near 24th and Pratt Streets. He was walking his girlfriend to a bus stop when a vehicle pulled up and opened fire. Although a man named Otis Walker was initially charged and stood trial twice for Dunn’s murder, he was acquitted in 2021 after his first trial ended in a mistrial. Dunn’s case remains unsolved, and no one has been convicted for the crime.
