In the summer of 2021, a young Caucasian woman's life was tragically cut short, leading to a cross-state homicide investigation. Twenty-three-year-old Leah Verratti was found deceased on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, in Fairmont Park in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Though her body was discovered in Iowa, investigators with the Council Bluffs Police Department soon determined that the crime had originated in Omaha, Nebraska.
