In the early morning hours of December 4, 2023, the life of 26-year-old Hispanic female Esmeralda Vargas was tragically cut short in an Omaha, Nebraska motel. Police were dispatched to the Comfort Inn and Suites near 70th and Grover Streets around 5:40 a.m. following a report of a woman with a gunshot wound. They discovered Vargas in a third-floor hallway near an elevator, suffering from a wound to her chest. Paramedics arrived and transported her to Bergan Mercy Hospital, but she was pronounced ...
