Derek J. Hale, a 25-year-old man from Wilmington, Delaware, died on November 9, 2006, after being shot by police officers during an investigation into the Pagans Motorcycle Club. The incident occurred while Hale was sitting on the steps of a house in Wilmington. Police officers, who were investigating the Pagans Motorcycle Club, confronted Hale and ordered him to remove his hands from his pockets. When he refused, they used Tasers on him multiple times.
